Of special interest to Laurie is staying current with trends women face in and out of the work place. In addition to working with women who are in the midst of a transition (career change, receiving an inheritance, losing a life partner, divorce or remarriage), Laurie works with clients who are planning for retirement. Ultimately, her goal is to help organize and simplify financial planning and the investment process giving clients the freedom to concentrate on their life goals and dreams. Laurie is a member of Inforum, a Michigan Professional Women’s Alliance. Laurie chaired the Women’s Advisory Commission for Oakland County in 2010 and served on the board from 2007-2010. In 2011, Laurie completed the Leadership Oakland XXII program and is currently a member of the Leadership Oakland Alumni Association. She is on the Board of Directors of Michigan Women’s Media, Inc. as Vice Chair. As a long-standing member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA®), Laurie has held various leadership positions. She chaired the Career Development Committee, served 5 years on the Michigan FPA Board of Directors and currently serves on the Government Relations committee. A frequent contributor to the Money Centered and Center Connections blogs, Laurie has taken on leadership responsibilities on the Center’s Marketing, Communications, and Health & Wellness committees. Laurie enjoys family activities, getting together with friends, travel, and staying physically active by running 5k’s and practicing yoga.
