Melissa Joy Passes CFP Exam

Melissa Joy, CFP®, Partner and Director of Investments has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the certification marks CFP® and Certified Financial Planner™ in accordance with CFP Board certification and renewal requirements.

These marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board. Melissa successfully completed financial planning coursework at Boston University and passed the March 2012 CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas:  the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.  CFP® certificants also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

Melissa becomes our firm’s tenth CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. Over her 13 years at The Center, she has generally focused on the investments. She chose to pursue the additional credentials to honor the firm value of Commitment to Financial Planning. “While I’ve always been aware of the financial planning process, the education and training I received as I prepared for the CFP exam was invaluable in pulling it all together. I couldn’t be more pleased to have received these marks and the knowledge that comes with them,” Melissa said.
