SANDRA D. ADAMS, CFP®    E-mail Sandy

Sandra D. Adams, CFP®  joined the Center staff in 1996 and is a lead planner. She received her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1992, and earned her Certified Financial Planner™ designation and Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses in 2003. She also earned her life and health insurance license in 2007. Sandy attended training through the Parent Care Solution™ program in 2008 and is the Center’s point-person for Elder Care related issues. Sandy currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Financial Planning Association where she serves as chair of the Membership Committee and serves on the Symposium Planning Committee. She is active in her church and local PTA. Sandy  enjoys spending time with her family and participating in various physical fitness and personal and professional development activities.

DANIEL H. BOYCE, CFP®  E-mail Dan

Daniel H. Boyce, CFP® has been active in the financial planning field since 1981 and is a founding partner of the Center. Mr. Boyce received his Certified Financial Planner® designation in 1983 and his Registered Life Planner® designation in 2005. Dan is a graduate of the University of Michigan, receiving his BA in 1974 and his MA in 1979. He is a Registered Principal of Raymond James Financial Services. A well-known planner in the Detroit area, Dan works primarily with high net-worth (>$1,000,000) individuals, executives, business owners, families and retirees. He is a past president of the Michigan Chapter of Certified Financial Planners, and currently serves as chair of the Board of Trustees of Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. Mr. Boyce is the Minister of Music Emeritus at his church and has been active in several Detroit area non-profits.

 MATTHEW E. CHOPE, CFP®  E-mail Matt

Matthew W. Chope, CFP®, is a  partner  with The Center  for Financial Planning . He has  been active in the financial planning profession since 1990.   Matt is a Registered Representative and Registered Principal with Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS). A graduate of Eastern Michigan University and the College for Financial Planning, Matt completed a bachelor’s degree in finance and his master's degree in financial planning.  Matt has taught accredited continuing education classes for life insurance agents in the areas of Investments and Markets.  He appeared on the former cable TV program called "Investing and You". Matt has been quoted in investment professional newspapers and magazines.  Matt is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Michigan and of the local society for the CFA.

 MARILYN M. GUNTHER, CFP®  E-mail Marilyn 

Marilyn M. Gunther began her financial planning career in 1983 and is a founding partner of the Center. Marilyn received her Certified Financial Planner designation in 1985 and holds a BS degree from Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pa and MS degree from Iowa State University. Marilyn is a Registered Principal of Raymond James Financial Services. As a recognized leader in her field, Marilyn was honored as one of the top financial advisors for doctors by Medical Economics (1998-2009). The "150 best financial advisors for doctors" award was based in part on credentials, experience, compensation arrangements, minimum investment requirements, a good regulatory compliance record and charitable work. Consideration was also given to advisors who specialize in physician business or the medical field. 

Ms. Gunther was designated as one of the top 100 financial advisors for independent firms in the US by Registered Rep. Magazine for the years 2007 and 2009 based upon assets under management.

Professional involvement has included past president of the Michigan International Association of Financial Planning and the Michigan Society of Certified Financial Planners. She has served on the board of the Metropolitan Detroit Chapter of the Financial and Estate Planning Council, the Personal Financial Planning program at Oakland University in addition to numerous civic and charitable organizations.

Marilyn considers her participation in the growth and development of the Center for Financial Planning as her greatest professional contribution. Her individual practice has focused on higher net worth retirees; doctors and those experiencing crises in their lives. Client success in achieving their goals has been the driving force for personal growth and satisfaction.

VICKI MCLELLAN, CFP®  E-mail Vicki

Vicki D. McLellan, CFP®, CDFA™ joined the Center for Financial Planning in 2004, and is currently head of the Center’s Planning Department. Ms. McLellan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University. She received her Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2007 and the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation in 2003; Ms. McLellan has completed the “Seven Stages of Money Maturity Workshop” and the Five Day Intensive Life Planning Training from the Kinder Institute of Life Planning.   Ms. McLellan is active professionally as a member of the Advisory Board of Oakland University’s Certified Financial Planning Certificate Program and a member of the Michigan Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, serving on the Career Development Committee. 

Ms. McLellan is also a member of the Nazrudin Project; a group of life planning professionals; the Michigan Inter-Professional Association; the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; and the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan/Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Chapter. Additionally, Ms. McLellan provides financial planning education to parents as part of Beaumont Hospital’s Parenting Program. Active in her community, Ms. McLellan served 12 years on the board of a non-profit housing corporation in Detroit and currently provides financial oversight for her neighborhood community organization.

 LAURIE RENCHIK, CFP®   E-mail Laurie

Laurie D. Renchik, CFP® has been active in the financial planning profession since 1992.  She joined the Center for Financial Planning in 2006, having moved her financial planning practice from the Clarkston/Ortonville area.  Laurie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University in 1990, and received the Certified Financial PlannerTM designation in 1995.  Currently she is an MBA candidate at Walsh College.  Laurie serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Financial Planning Association (FPA). She is a Commissioner on the Women’s Commission for Oakland County and is the 2010 Chair.

 TIMOTHY W. WYMAN, CFP®, JD   E-Mail Tim

Timothy W. Wyman is a partner with the Center For Financial Planning, Inc.  A leader in his profession, Wyman served on the national Board of Directors for the 28,500 member Financial Planning Association™ (FPA®) from 2005-2007. Wyman has appeared on WDIV/TV4, WXYZ/TV7 & UPN/TV50 in Detroit and has contributed to lead articles in numerous national publications including: The Wall Street Journal,USA Today, Money Magazine, SmartMoney, NY Post Online Edition, Wall Street Career Journal, Parents Magazine, Essence, Bloomberg Personal Finance, Financial Advisor, Investment Advisor and InvestmentNews in addition to local news print such as The Detroit News, The Detroit Free Press, and The Oakland Press.

Wyman formerly served on the Advisory Board of Oakland University’s – Personal Financial Planning Program and is a former Adjunct Faculty member. Wyman’s expertise and experience have been recognized by serving on national committees comprised of CFP™ practitioners and academics from around the country that hold recognized expertise in specialized areas of personal financial planning. Additionally, Wyman served on the Advisory Board for the Journal of Financial Planning. Wyman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Management from Albion College, the Certified Financial Planner (“CFP™”) designation, a Juris Doctorate cum laude from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University, and is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan. Wyman holds Series 7, 63, 51 and 24 securities licenses in addition to his insurance license. Active in his community, Wyman is a past president of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce and a frequent speaker to area organizations and businesses on various financial planning topics.  Wyman, his wife, and their three children reside in Bloomfield Township, MI.
